Sustainable Food Tour Adelaide Hills2

Here you are our first sustainable food tour for this “complex” 2020.

This tour will take you to visit more than 5 different food producers in Adelaide Hills, with 3 experiences correlated with food production and food sustainability, designed in cooperation with AgriAdventures.

Learn about food sustainability, having fun, and enjoying local South Australia produces in Adelaide Hills.

This tour is chauffeured or self-driven, pls. check the ticket description below for better choosing your option.

Tour Description:

   1. Meeting point and departure: “Sustainability Centre Adelaide”

We will meet in Bowen Str. near the “Sustainability Centre” in the Telstra Electric Charge station from 8:50 and 9:00 AM

Departure time is 9:00 so pls. make sure to reach this point 5 mins earlier.

   2. First Visit: Stafford Orchard (1 hour)

We will arrive at Stafford Orchard at 9:50, we will be introduced to our host and start our experience soon we are ready.

The total visit is about 1 hour, we will learn more about apples, varieties, production, storage, and secondary products. We will have the opportunity to ask questions and enjoy the beauty of spring in a flowering Apple Orchard. A cider tasting will be also available for us at the end of the experience. Every participant will receive a $10 discount off the purchase of ciders.

   3. Secon Visit: Local goodies shops\Woodside (1 hour)

Woodside is renown for a few local food producers which have been reaching international fame with their products, if you are into cheese and chocolate, this is the time where you will have fun.

Pls. be aware no experiences are correlated with this location, so you will be wandering in and out those shops as you please, taste, and purchase as you wish.

 4. Third Visit: Lunch\Sustainable fish Experience in Stirling (1 hour)

Past midday we will reach the small town of Stirling for an educational stopover in a special local fish and chips shop. With the introduction of sustainable fisheries and local fish production, we will learn during our second food sustainability experience in the “hills”.

You also will be able to purchase your favorite meal, during the experience for better enjoyment. (price of the meal is not included in the ticket price)

  5. Fourth Visit: Natural Wine/Sustainable Winemaking. (1 hour)

To finish the tour we will have the opportunity to learn about sustainable winemaking, and taste natural wines, directly from one of the active scientists at the National Wine Centre in Adelaide. This experience is for seriously curious people about winemaking and

  6. Return to Adelaide 04:00 pm

 

Tour options:

In order to welcome any type of food curious and enthusiasts, the tour is available in two different formats.

Chauffeured:

For who prefers to leave to somebody else the effort of driving, while enjoying the experience with no responsibilities.

Self-Driven:

For who likes to move with his own vehicle, enjoying its private room with no limitations.

Note: every self-driven participant will receive a copy of the itinerary at the beginning of the tour and will be responsible for reach any of the meeting points at the established time. Late arrival or unexpected issues will be accommodated as per what is possible in respect of all participants. NO REFUND WILL BE PROVIDED.

 

Minors:

For minors up to 12 years-old participation is FREE, with the following restrictions:

  • A parent or guardian is constantly supervising the minor during the tour execution.
  • Unpaying Minors are participating via a Self Driven Food Tour.
  • AgriAdventures management or any of its partners is not liable for damages done or caused by unsupervised minors participating in the tour.

 

Food:

Lunch will be available during the tour but not included in the price of the ticket. Feel free to self cater or purchase your own in any of the establishments we will visit during the day.
