February 21 @ 14:00 - 16:00 ACDT

$10
Grow your Own

This is a basic vegetable garden course over 6 weeks – From 21 Feb. to 28 March.

Each week we will cover the practical garden knowledge you will need to grow your own garden.
The Chapel Street Community Garden has a focus on gardening in sync with our environment.
From this course, you will have the basic information to help you make informed choices and be able to grow your garden as you wish – planting the vegetables that you want to eat.
Each week will focus on a different topic. Using a garden bed we prepare together. You will get your hands in the soil and compost, start some seeds for your garden.

Topics include:
Getting to know your garden space create a planting calendar

  • Propagation and sowing your own seeds (for your garden)
  • Keeping your soil productive and healthy
  • Seed saving for next year and to share
  • Pests and guests – getting the balance

Ticket priority will be given to City of Burnside Residents initially, as the council funded the program. If you miss out on the general tickets, please register your interest by joining the waiting list through the contact below.

Check out the Food Embassy website: here

Older children are welcome to join the program but must be accompanied by an adult.
A Covid19 safe plan will be finalized according to the government’s advice at the time.

This will be provided closer to the commencement of the sessions.
