Sharing its roots with the town, Oxenberry Farm stands to be the oldest establishment in McLaren Vale (established 1840).
Devonshire farmers William Colton and Charles Hewett journeyed to Australia in 1839 with their families and ambitions, aspiring to build a legacy.
Together, their pioneering spirit, blood, sweat, and tears laid the foundations for what would one day grow to be McLaren Vale.
What is included in Oxenberry Farm History Tour:
The History tour includes a quick introduction to the history of Australia from its settling times to South Australia Company and the foundations of McLaren Vale with Oxenberry Farm.
The tour of the Oxenberry Farm property covers an introduction to some of the old heritage cottages and the modern winemaking facility. Its history, and the connection of Oxenberry farm and its settlers Mr.Colton and Mr.Hewett with the history of South Australia. (visit inside the different buildings will be subject of availabilities).
We will end our tour visiting the nearby Pedler Creek Vineyard, its water reservoir and tasting some of the Oxenberry farm wines, accompanied by small nibbles.
Available in substitution to the wine tasting a soft drink of choice from the cafe’ drink menu’.

What is required:
The experience will run on different terroirs and locations. comfy shoes are required, as well as, adequate protection for sunny/rainy days.
